ICC District 9 Regional Cancer Control Coalition

The ICC Public Health District 9 Regional Cancer Control Coalition (District 9) identifies and addresses the cancer burden in Clark, Dearborn, Decatur, Floyd, Franklin, Harrison, Jefferson, Jennings, Ohio, Ripley, Scott, and Switzerland counties.

The District 9 Coalition is focusing on colorectal cancer initiatives, which align with the National Colorectal Cancer Roundtable’s 80% by 2018 screening initiative. This campaign focuses on eliminating colorectal cancer as a major public health concern by increasing screening rates to 80 percent by 2018. In support of lowering the burden of colorectal cancer, the District 9 coalition is actively planning a Colorectal Cancer Summit in March 2018. More information to follow.

District 9 Coalition members also planned and hosted a Lung Health Summit on November 6, 2014, at Clark Memorial Hospital. Public health professionals and tobacco control partners from the district, as well as health care providers such as nurses, patient navigators, and health system administrative staff, were welcomed to this summit.
